The Indian Embassy in Kathmandu invites online applications from Nepali students studying in Nepal for the Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship and the Golden Jubilee Scholarship.
The online application form can be submitted via the web portal www.goischolarship.com.np from Kartik 9 to Mangsir 4, 2081 (25th October 2024 – 19th November 2024). The portal will close on Mangsir 5, 2081, at 12:00 AM (20th November 2024, 00:00 hrs). Applicants must ensure that their applications are submitted by Mangsir 4, 2081, 11:59 PM (19th November 2024, 23:59 hrs).
A. Mahatma Gandhi Scholarship Scheme 2024-25 (For Class 11 Students)
- Eligibility:
- Applicants must be regular Class 11 (non-diploma) students enrolled in any recognized educational institution in Nepal.
- A certificate verified by the head of the institution, confirming that they are currently studying in Class 11 and have not received any other scholarship, must be uploaded.
- A minimum of 60% aggregate marks in Class 10 is required, and applicants need to upload the Class 10 mark sheet.
- Scholarship Amount and Duration:
- Selected candidates will receive a scholarship of NPR 24,000 per year for two years (Classes 11 and 12).
- Continuation for Class 12 is subject to submission of:
- A copy of the Class 11 mark sheet.
- A certificate, verified by the head of the institution, confirming the student’s percentage in Class 11 and their enrollment in Class 12.
B. Golden Jubilee Scholarship Scheme 2024-25 (For Bachelor’s Degree Courses)
- Eligibility:
- Applicants must be regular students enrolled in the first year of a bachelor’s degree (non-diploma) at any recognized educational institution in Nepal.
- A certificate verified by the head of the institution, stating they are currently studying in the first year of a bachelor’s degree and have not received any other scholarship, must be uploaded.
- A minimum of 70% aggregate marks in Class 12 (excluding Class 11 marks) is required, along with the Class 12 mark sheet.
- Age Limit: Applicants should be between 17 and 22 years old as of 17th Asar 2082.
